“Being an apprentice at Stafford has been a great experience. I’ve been hands-on with real projects from the start, and the team’s always there to help out. I’ve learned a lot already, and it’s not just about getting the job done—it’s about doing it right.”

Our culture

What we’re about

We believe the best solutions come from a team that works together and values doing things properly. We foster a culture built on collaboration, continuous learning, and practical problem-solving. Whether you’re on the workshop floor or in the design room, everyone plays a part, and fresh ideas are always welcome.

Here, it’s about having each other’s backs, taking pride in our work, and enjoying the process along the way.

We offer flexible working hours, an active social club, competitive rates and an enjoyable working environment alongside a supportive and like minded team.

We believe in building the future engineering workforce requires investment into people from an early age. We have been involved in WECA (Waikato Engineering Careers Association), and SSEP (Secondary School Employer Partnerships) from inception and regularly have school or Polytechnic tours through our facility with the aim in giving young people an insight into industry.

Apprenticeships & Cadetships

We maintain a number of apprentices / cadets throughout the various manufacturing departments in the business, keeping up the flow of new talent into the business.

Internships

Each year we offer summer work placements to Engineering undergrads as part of their course requirements, both in the workshop and engineering office.

Professional Development

Through both internal and external training, our staff continue to grow and develop professionally. We have had a relationship with the Icehouse since 2005 with a number of staff having gone through their programmes.
