Stafford Engineering is the ONLY provider of ASME U-stamp vessels in New Zealand

200+

ASME U-Stamp pressure vessels built by Stafford Engineering in operation around the globe.

2016

The year Stafford Engineering gained ASME U-Stamp certification.

Background

Stafford Engineering is the only manufacturer in New Zealand certified with the ASME U-stamp, a globally recognized accreditation we have proudly held since 2016. This certification enables us to design, build, and certify pressure vessels to ASME Section VIII Division 1 standards, ensuring they meet strict international safety and quality requirements. Serving both local and international markets, we produce vessels for a range of industries, with significant expertise in the food processing sector. Our certification allows us to provide clients with pressure vessels that are fully compliant and ready for use in the most demanding applications worldwide.

Challenge

Adhering to ASME standards for pressure vessel production is a complex process that requires expertise in design, material selection, manufacturing, and certification. From rigorous stress analysis, design verification and precise welding to material traceability and non-destructive testing, each step ensures the vessel meets stringent safety and quality requirements. Challenges include managing specialized materials, complying with inspection protocols, and maintaining detailed documentation, all while balancing cost and efficiency. Our team excels in navigating these complexities, delivering certified, high-quality vessels that meet ASME standards and exceed industry expectations.

Solution

At Stafford Engineering, we specialize in designing ASME-compliant pressure vessels or manufacturing them from your provided designs. Our process includes design validation to meet ASME Section VIII standards, certified material sourcing, qualified welding, and rigorous non-destructive and hydrostatic testing. We work closely with third-party inspectors to ensure all requirements are met, providing reliable, fully certified vessels, built to a world class quality.

Testimonial

Stafford Engineering partners closely with Bureau Veritas Inspection and Insurance Company as our authorized inspection agency (AIA) of choice. The relationship with the team based in Houston Texas has developed since 2018 when we had to look offshore for inspection services after the options closer to home in New Zealand & Australia were no longer available. The relationship has turned into a trusted partnership allowing Stafford Engineering and Bureau Veritas Inspection and Insurance Company to effectively deliver world class quality pressure vessels and equipment into the North American market.
